Nier (Square Enix, 2010)


Just as it was once advertised, “nothing is as it seems” in Square Enix’s “Nier,” an under-the-radar RPG that challenges prior conceptions of identity by taking players on a journey that constantly evades whatever meaning they try to ascribe to it.  Find my analysis of the game here, in anticipation of its coming sequel.
